India’s World Cup winning hero Yuvraj Singh went for Rs 14 cr to Vijay Mallya owned team Royal Challengers Bangalore. Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik was snapped up by his former team Delhi Daredevils for Rs 12.5 cr. Virender Sehwag was sold for Rs 3.2 cr to Kings XI Punjab, a surprisingly low amount.
Discarded English superstar Kevin Pietersen – a big draw at the auction – was retained by Delhi after using their “right to match” card against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Corey Anderson, who was expected to go for a big amount at the auction, was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 4.5 cr.
