Here’s a brief synopsis from BioShock: Infinite’s official website:
Really though, why read about it when you can see Irrational’s amazing announcement trailer. Check it out here:

You’ve got to give Irrational some credit, they really know how to pull off a cinematic trailer, right? It starts by teasing us, making us believe we’re still in rapture, but then literally throws us out the window and into the sky city of Columbia. Let’s pray that our protagonist Mr. DeWitt hits the ground running, and we see more of BioShock: Infinite very soon.
What intrigued me the most from this trailer wasn’t the fact that took place in the sky, or that it was a very American and very nationalistic. No, it was the trailer’s antagonist, the cyborg always hidden in the shadows. One of his first actions was to crush a Big Daddy figurine beneath his foot, as if to say, “You ain’t seen nothing yet. You’ve entered a world of hurt.” The only substantial looks we get of the Robo-Daddy is his robotic hand and his still-beating heart.
After viewing the cyborg’s heart, my first question was not, “What is this thing?” No, it was, “What kind of technology do they have in this city?” On the BioShock: Infinite website the date for the game is said to be 1912, so they must have made some spectacular scientific breakthroughs to create such a metal monstrosity. What else could they have potentially created on Columbia? Is this cyborg simply the tip of the iceberg? How wonderfully mysterious.
Did this reveal surprise you as much as it did me, Ranters? Does BioShock: Infinite appear to be everything you’d want in a true sequel? Leave your thoughts below!
Bioshock: Infinite is tentatively scheduled for a late 2012 release on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
